Punjab to host 60th national school games in 6 sports disciplines: Dr Cheema

Chandigarh, September 10, 2014:  Punjab Education Minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema today announced that 60th National School Games for six sports disciplines would be organised in the month of November this year. In these games, around 4,000 sportspersons from across the country would participate.   
Disclosing this here today, Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said that these games would be organised in two different phases- at Sri Anandpur Sahib and Bathinda.
The events of Handball U-19 (boys and girls), Gatka U-19 (boys and girls), Boxing U-14 and U-17 (boys) and National Style Kabaddi U-19 (boys and girls) would be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 13 to 18, 2014. In second phase, events of Dodgeball U-19 (boys and girls) and Circle Style Kabaddi U-17 and U-19 (boys) would be held at Bathinda from November 20 to 25, 2014.
Dr. Cheema informed that a meeting of sports officials from Education Department would be organised this month and the officials would be deputed on different duties so that the games are organized successfully.
