Chandigarh, September 30, 2015: In a major respite to the people of the State, the Punjab government today decided to reduce the bus fare from tomorrow by 04 paise per kilometer.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that as per the notification issued by the State Transport Department, bus fare has been reduced from 91 to 87 paisa per passenger per kilometer. The decreased bus fares would be applicable from October 1, 2015.
The spokesperson further said that the bus fares have been reduced in view of the slashed prices of diesel in the international market. The spokesperson further said that the transport department has reviewed the bus fares and decided to lower the bus fares by 4 paisa per passenger per kilometer.
