Dharamshala, April 23, 2016: As the summer season has started, the travelers between Himachal and Uttaranchal, specially on Chandigarh –Dehradun route will face hardship as there is no AC bus available from any station of Himachal to Dehradun or from Chandigarh to Dehradun or vice versa . Earlier one HRTC deluxe (Non AC) bus was on route between Dharamshala-Dehradun to cater the Tibetan settlements of both the cities, but for the last one year even this luxury has been snatched away from passengers of the area.
There is no AC bus there even to link two capital cities of Himachal and Uttaranchal. All buses from different cities of Himachal en route Dehradunvia Chandigarh, the city which is a hub of HRTC buses. The authorities of HRTC must start at least one Volvo AC bus between Chandigarh –Dehradun to come to the rescue of the passengers, as almost every Volvo AC bus from different areas of Himachal to Delhi and back passes through Chandigarh. And people seeking journey to Dehradun from Chandigarh can avail this service if provided by the HRTC authorities.
Parvez, Kuldeep, Lalit, Nazreen, Tenzig ,Dolma, Aman, Aakash, Anju, Rajni K, Ramdev, VB Singh, Randin, Cherring, Cheecai, Karma and Budh who are the frequent travelers between Dharamshala-Dehradun have sent the written request to G S Bali, Transport minister Himachal Pradesh to provide the luxury bus service to Dehradun. These passengers said that they may meet CM Himachal in the coming days if their request is not being met accordingly. They said that there is no shortage of passengers who can pay high to travel between Dharamshala- Dehradun or Chandigarh -Dehradun, then why the HRTC is not coming forward to meet their demand.
When contacted one of the high official of Himachal Road Transport Corporation in Shimla on the term of not disclosing the name said there is no shortage of the AC buses in HRTC and if desired by the higher level these buses could be started within no time. G S Bali could not be contacted for comments.
