Shimla, January 15, 2016: Urban Development and Town & Country Planning Minister Shri Sudhir Sharma said that keeping in view rapid urbanization, there was an urgent need to work with commitment for systematic planning and development of housing colonies.
The Minister while presiding over the meeting of Board of Directors of HIMUDA here today, emphasized that HIMUDA should work with a motto to make housing colonies livable.
He said that HIMUDA should come up with ingenious strategies and innovative solutions for ensuring housing delivery not only at the right scale and cost but also with the right methods which can harness in our respective efforts.
Vice Chairman, HIMUDA Shri Yashwant Chhajta stressed to follow more aggressive policy for bringing investment through the public private partnership mode and to ensure completion of the projects/works in a fixed time frame and maintain quality in construction.
The Board approved the proforma for Memorandum of Understanding for the Scheme “Land Owners become Partner with HIMUDA”, which is the first scheme of such type in the State. It approved the proposal for construction of eight flats including internal and external services in residential complex below BCS, Phase-III(Part-I) in Shimla amounting to Rs.2.28 crore.
The Board approved the proposal of revision of maintenance charges from Rs.30 per square meter to Rs.25 per square meter plus applicable service tax of plots, houses and flats in respect of housing colonies of HIMUDA. The policy for the construction of additional storeys in allotted booths and shops sites in housing colonies of HIMUDA as per F.A.R. was also accorded approval during the meeting. The Board approved the engagement of two retired Patwaries in HIMUDA from the Revenue Department to cope with the increased work load.
The proposals for providing employment on compassionate grounds against one post of the Clerk on contract basis and encadrement of one post of road roller driver to driver by abolishing the post of road roller driver were also given approval by the Board. Besides, the Board also approved the proposal of purchase of land at different places of the State.
Non-official members Shri Suresh Sharma and Shri Vikas Kapoor, Additional Chief Secretary (Housing, TCP & UD) Smt.Manisha Nanda and other senior officers and official members attended the meeting.
