PU invited applications for the M.B.A (Executive) seats

Chandigarh, May 27, 2015: Working executives and the fresh pass outs students wishing to pursue MBA from the Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has got an opportunity to take admission in MBA course as the University School of Open Learning (USOL), PU has invited applications for the M.B.A (Executive) seats.

There will be 545 seats and the admission would be based on entrance test. The Prospectus and application form is available on the PU Website i.e.http://mbaoffcampus.puchd.ac.in/index.php.

PU Spokesman said that the Price of Prospectus for General Category is Rs 1650/- and for SC/ST is Rs- 825/-. The Last date for submission of online application to generate the bank challan is 6 July, 2015 and last date for submission of fee in any branch of SBI is 8 July. The entrance test would be conducted on July 26. The Qualifying Percentage in the Test would be 15%.

Out of 545 seats, 45 seats have been reserved for NRI’s while the remaining seats would be available as per the quota. 55.5% seats are for Open category, 15% seats have been reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST, 5% each for BC, Sports and Defence, 3% for Physically Handicapped, 2% each for Riot Victims and Freedom Fighter Families.

The Last date for submission the fee details and uploading of photograph, signature with the rest of the information on the website is 10 July. E-Admit cards would be available on the website on July 20. There will be no physical communication for this purpose. The Centre for entrance Test is Chandigarh. If the number of candidates exceeded 40, the entrance test centre would also be set up at Ludhiana.

Entrance Test would be of objective type. The Entrance Test will carry 100% weight age and will be of two hours duration consisting of 100 questions. It will consist of multiple- choice questions having four responses A, B, C & D. The components of the test will include: (i) Data interpretation and problem solving; (ii) Numerical Ability; (iii) Verbal Ability/ Reasoning; and (iv) General English & Comprehension. There will be 25 questions in each section.

PU Spokesman said that the curriculum of MBA (Executive) through distance mode will be relevant to the changing business scenario and will cater to the needs of all the aspiring learners especially the working executives. Specialization is offered in the third and fourth semesters. The different specializations are (i) Human Resources (ii) Marketing (iii) Finance.

After the declaration of the result, the successful candidates will have to follow the procedure for admission to MBA (Executive). If successful candidates do not follow this procedure, they will not be granted admission. At the time of declaration of result the detail of this procedure will be available at http://mbausol.puchd.ac.in.
