PU, Chandigarh all set to start Student Feed-back Forms from next academic session 2015-16

Chandigarh, May 23, 2015: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh is all set to start the Student Feed-back Forms from next academic session 2015-16. Student’s feedback would be collected in the form of Student Feed-back Form as decided by the PU Senate and Syndicate. 

The Student Feed-back Form and many other academic issues were discussed in the monthly Chairpersons Meeting of PU here on Friday. The meeting was presided over by PU Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover. PU Dean University Instructions (DUI) Prof A.K.

Bhandari, PU officers, large number of Chairpersons/Directors/ Coordinators of various Teaching Departments/Institutions and Campus Deans participated in the meeting.

The meeting discussed the benefits of adopting Global Initiative for Academic Networks (GIAN) in Higher Education, which is aimed at tapping the talent pool of scientists and entrepreneurs internationally to encourage their engagement with the institutes of Higher Education in India.

The Guidelines and possibilities for empanelment of Adjunct Faculty in Universities and Colleges for skill based vocational courses as well as General Education & Research were also discussed and deliberated.

PU VC Prof Grover also informed the meeting that the German House for Research and Innovation, DWIH would organize DWIH Fair for Higher Education and Research in Chandigarh on August 21 & 22. Leading German Universities, Research Funding Organization and Educational Institutions offering various opportunities for young Indian Scientists and researchers would participate in the two day fair. On August 21, the delegation would visit PU, where the representatives of the German Organization would conduct info-sessions.

Union Cabinet has approved GIAN to tap the talent pool of international scientists so as to augment the country’s existing academic resources, accelerate the pace of quality reform, and elevate India’s scientific and technological capacity to global excellence.

GIAN is envisaged to catalyse higher education institutions in the country, and that it will initially include all IITs, IIMs, Central Universities, IISc Bangalore, IISERs, NITs and IIITs subsequently cover good State Universities where the spinoff is vast.

GIAN is an evolving scheme which will initially include participation of foreign faculty in Institutes as Distinguished / Adjunct / Visiting faculty / Professors of Practice, etc., to participate in delivering Short or Semester-long Courses. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
