Chandigarh, August 4, 2016: Under the world bank funded project Technical Education Quality Improvement Program-II (TEQIP), Professor at Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, University of Hull, UK Dr.Alex Ibhadon today interacted with faculty and research scholars of Dr.SSB University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (UICET).
Prof. Alex Ibhadon heads the Catalysis and Catalytic Reactor Engineering Research group at the University of Hull. Dr. Alex is the visiting foreign speaker at Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh for Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) international workshop.
During his interaction with faculty of the institute and research scholars, Prof. Alex Ibhadon elaborated about his research work in the area of heterogeneous catalysis and use of integrative system approach to develop innovative energy efficient chemical reaction processes. He is actively working in the areas of semi hydrogenation reactions using capillary micro reactors and nitrogen fixation. The faculty and the research scholars interacted with the visiting faculty and discussed about the possible future work and collaborations in these important research areas.
Prof. Alex has active research collaborations in heterogeneous gas-phase catalysis, catalytic reactors, fine chemicals synthesis and advanced nanoporous materials for over ten years with grants from the British Council, the Royal Society and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) U.K.
Earlier, Chairperson of the UICET Prof. Meenakshi Goyal welcomed the eminent expert. Mr. Surinder Singh introduced the foreign faculty and Coordinator TEQIP-II Prof. Anupama Sharma thanked all the dignitaries at the event.
