Feeling proud on this rare honour, emotional Debanshu shared: “It really makes me proud to be a student of LPU which transformed me into a passionate student to think and work for others. I have studied in an ordinary way...but I have learnt a lot in an extraordinary method at my university. I wanted to join NCC at university to be an army officer to serve the country. On being unable to join NCC, I opted the other way out to serve the society through NSS. I had never thought that this selfless learning will lead me to win the coveted honours in such a young age by being at my much adorable university.”
Congratulating the award winning student, LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal advised other students to follow in spirit the great doings of Debanshu. Mittal said: “It gave me immense happiness as and when I came to know that one of our students is going to be honoured by the President of India. I am also proud that our LPU Volunteer has brought glory and pride not only to the university and student community but the Punjab also. He is now a great source of inspiration for other university students also. I advise all the students to be as socially dutiful as Debanshu is.” Mittal further informed: “LPU believes in developing students with all those traits and skills that are required in a global citizen and a complete professional. LPU environ make students imbibe not only academic skills but extracurricular abilities also.”
