Prem Bhatia Memorial scholarship for SCS students

Annual scholarships for Mass Communication students started by Prem Bhatia Memorial Trust
Chandigarh, May 28, 2019: Two students pursuing Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication from the School of Communication Studies, Panjab University have been awarded a scholarship of Rs 20,000 each by the Prem Bhatia Memorial Trust. The 24 year old trust has begun an annual scholarship on need cum merit basis.
The two students who have been selected by the academic committee of the department are Krishma, a final year student and Suraj Munjal, a first year student for the award of scholarship this year. Mr. Anand Bhatia, the president of the trust said, The trust is extremely happy to collaborate with the School of Communication Studies, to encourage the students to pursue dreams in the field of journalism.
The Prem Bhatia Memorial Trust was founded in 1995 in memory of the eminent journalist Prem Bhatia. The trust works for improvement of journalism standards in the country. Each year, the trust gives two awards, outstanding political reporting of the year and outstanding environmental reporting of the year, decided by independent juries, specially constituted for this purpose. This scholarship has been instituted by the trust to encourage budding journalists.
