Jalandhar: To mark the 6th Death Anniversary of its Founder Chairman, Dr Stya Paul, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar held a devotional ceremony in its premises on Tuesday.
Apeejay Education Society runs 29 educational Institutions all over the country along with India's first Liberal Arts University, Apeejay Stya University in Sohana. The students and staff of Apeejay School and Apeejay College of Fine Arts sang the favourite hymns of Dr Stya Paul to seek the blessings of almighty. Dr. Sucharita, Principal of the college paid rich tribute to Dr. Stya Paul in her address citing him as a visionary who made Apeejay, a hub of quality education and said it was only through his strenuous efforts that Apeejay has become a brand in the field of quality education. She said Dr. Stya Paul planted a sapling in 1975 as Rajeshwari Kala Sangam which has become a full grown tree spreading its branches all over the nation and setting the new standards of education. She said he was a philanthropist who sought to expand the horizons of our nation's culture and art by establishing Apeejay. She further shared her views that Dr. Stya Paul always stood as a beacon of inspiration to spread women education and lead Apeejay on the path of spreading enlightenment. She also said that Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, the current President of Apeejay Education Society is not only the daughter of Dr. Stya Paul but also his able disciple as she carries on his work with enthusiasm and zeal. On this occasion, Ms. Meera Javed, Principal, APJ School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar and faculty members of the College also paid a tribute to Dr. Stya Paul.
