POLLING AREAS FROM VIDHA SABHA ELECTION CONSTITUENCY 65-LUDHIANA NORTH SHIFTED TO VIDHA SABHA ELECTION CONSTITUENCY 63-LUDHIANA CENTRAL

Ludhiana, September 15, 2016:The inquiry of the complaint by Mr Surinder Kumar Dawar, MLA, Vidhan Sabha Election Constituency 63-Ludhiana Central was carried out by respective Election Registration Officers and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana. And on the basis of reports received from the inquiry officers, a meeting was presided over by Additional District Electoral Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Ludhiana and was attended by the representatives of Mr Surinder Kumar Dawar (complainant), MLA, Vidhan Sabha Election Constituency 63-Ludhiana Central, representatives of Mr Rakesh Pandey, MLA, Vidhan Sabha Election Constituency 65-Ludhiana North, respective ERO’s and representatives of political parties.
During the meeting, as per the unanimous decision taken by the members/representatives of political parties that leaving Section No 8- Jain Nagar Shivpuri Road (vote no: 961 to 1013, 1025 total votes – 54) (because all voters of this section are related to ward no: 64) of Polling Booth Number 138 of Vidhan Sabha Election Constituency 65-Ludhiana North, section no 5- Shivpuri Shankarpuri Street No 1 (vote no 598 to 851, 1022, 1023 total votes 258), section no 6- Shivpuri Laxmi Street Number 1 (vote no 852 to 926, 1024 total votes-76), section no 7- Shankarpuri Shivpuri Road (vote no 927 to 960 total votes – 34) as per Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana’s ward delimitation (of 70 wards) they fall in ward number 63.
The proposal for shifting a total of 368 votes of above mentioned sections of Polling Booth No 138 from Vidhan Sabha Election Constituency 65-Ludhiana North to Polling Booth Number 13 and 14 of Vidhan Sabha Election Constituency 63-Ludhiana Central, was sent for approval to the Election Commission of India (ECI). The ECI has approved the shifting of voters/polling area from Vidhan Sabha Election Constituency 65-Ludhiana North to Vidhan Sabha Election Constituency 63-Ludhiana Central.
