PD Sharma writes to MCL: People of Ludhiana realise that you are carrying burden of cumulative neglect of decades

Ludhiana, September 17, 2016: P.D.Sharma, President of Apex Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Punjab) has written a letter to Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana regarding Cleansing Operation (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan).
The letter reads as under: “Ludhiana has been an unclean place since its inception, being the industrial town. Thus, the people of Ludhiana realise that you are carrying the burden of cumulative neglect of decades.
The mosquitoes related dreadful diseases are cause of great concern for the country.
Industrial towns in particular have to be very alert for obvious reasons.
The vendors selling eatables are scattered over busy places of the city and doing roaring business. The remnants of sorts are thrown in the open in large volumes. The wet material is the breeding ground for mosquitoes.
I am sorry to point out that Garbage & trash of sorts are seen in good localities like Model Town, Sarabha Nagar and B.R.S Nagar etc. Situation in other localities can be imagined. Unfortunately so called civilized people throw the rampant on the open after the community functions of sorts.
I have personal knowledge of this trend in Model Town market and around. The same is the position elsewhere. As regards other places things may be still worst.
I would, therefore, request you to kindly start a campaign in your own befitting manner to curb this trend for ever. I know your instructions are already known to the concerned functionaries; but compliance seems lacking.”
