PAVITRA RISHTA fans threaten to go on a hunger strike!

Fans of Arjun & Purvi will go to any length to see them reunited on the show…

‘Reunite Arjun and Purvi, or we will go on a hunger strike!’ say countless fan mails that have been pouring into the Zee TV office. Over the last few weeks, with Zee TV’s Pavitra Rishta completing 1,000 episodes last week, the fervor around reuniting it’s lovebirds Arjun and Purvi has reached a fever pitch. With the channel’s Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/ZeeTvIndia and Twitter handle(@ZeeTvOfficial) being filled with such requests from fans all across the globe, some fans have taken their love for the couple to the next level by threatening to go on a hunger strike if the channel doesn’t reunite Arjun and Purvi within the next week.

Besides writing emails and letters, Arvi (Arjun- Purvi) fans have also started an online petition to reunite the two on the show. Over the last few weeks, this petition has been signed by over 10,000 fans and continues to garner more support as the days go by. “We always knew that our fans loved us very much, but this news made our jaws drop!” says Rithvik Dhanjani who plays one half of the ‘Arvi’ pair (Arjun – Purvi). “I am very touched that my fans have loved our pairing to the extent that they are signing online petitions and tweeting to the channel to reunite us. Hunger strikes and boycotting the channel are extreme measures though. I am sure that I speak for Asha as well when I say that I request all of my fans not to take such drastic steps!  Asha and I love our characters Purvi and Arjun as well and want to see them together as much as all of our fans do. We are big believers in the power of Arjun and Purvi’s love, but I am sure Ekta Ma’am and the channel have a story in mind for them being apart. However, I’m sure that true love will win in the end. So we urge our fans to please be patient for a little while more.”
