PAU Students Win Medals At Inter-Varsity Youth Fest

Ludhiana, February 11, 2016: The students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have brought laurels to the University by winning Gold Medal in Group Song Indian, Silver Medal in Patriotic Group Song, and Bronze Medals in Poster Making and Quiz events during the 16th All India Inter-Agricultural Universities Youth Festival 2015-16. The fest was organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi at Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar (Orissa) from February 1-4, 2016.
Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU congratulated the students for winning laurels at the national level. He also lauded the students for their true spirit of participation.
Dr (Mrs) Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Director Students’ Welfare, PAU said that sports and co-curricular activities develop self-confidence and shape up the students’ personality. She informed that the PAU contingent of 27 students participated in more than 15 events pertaining to literary, fine arts, theatre, music and dance. A total of 45 agricultural universities from across the country participated in this fest, she said.
Dr Simran Sidhu from the Department of Sociology and Dr Karan Bir Singh Gill, from the Department of Fruit Science accompanied the PAU contingent.
