Ludhiana, June 11, 2015: A one-day training programme on “Soil Health Maintenance and Soil Health Card” was organized at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) under the guidance of Dr R.S. Sidhu, Director of Extension Education.
Dr T.S. Riar, Course Coordinator, said the PAU soil scientists dwelt on the importance of soil health card, right way of taking soil samples, symptoms of micronutrient deficiencies, techniques for inclusion of sufficient micronutrients, judicious use of fertilizers, significance of potassium in soil and symptoms of its deficiency in fruits, vegetables and flowers. Besides, the trainees were given practical exposure in soil testing, he added.
The University experts namely Dr Kuldeep Singh, Dr M.S. Mawi, Dr H.S. Dhaliwal, and Dr A.S. Toor were the resource persons.
