PAU To Impart Training In Seed Production And Vocational Programmes

Ludhiana, April 4, 2016: The Directorate of Extension Education of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) would hold training courses on “Seed Production of Vegetable Crops” and “Vocational and Career Development Programme” in April. Giving details, Dr R.S. Sidhu, Director of Extension Education, said a training course on “Seed Production of Vegetable Crops” would be conducted on April 7 and 8 for horticulture development officers, district extension specialists and scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendras. During the course, experts would impart practical as well as theoretical training in seed production of onion, brinjal, okra, bitterguord, bottleguord, pumpkin, carrot, beans, pea, garlic, cucumber, potato, cabbage, radish, muskmelon, watermelon, etc. he told. The experts would also educate trainees about weed control and management of insect – pests and diseases in vegetable crops, he added.

Another training course on “Vocational and Career Development Programme” would be organized for school going children on April 12. The children would be apprised of vocational and career development programme related to agriculture, farm engineering, basic sciences and humanities, home science and veterinary science.
