SOI president Meetpal Dugri ends hunger strike of agitating students

Ludhiana, April 5, 2016: The indefinite hunger strike by the parents of students of private school was ended after the Director Youth Development Board and Student Organisation Of India (SOI) Zonal president Meetpal Singh Dugri offered juice to the protestors.

Meetpal Singh Dugri informed the agitating protestors that the state government will form Regulatory commission for private schools. The commission will fix the admission fee, tution fee, issue of books and all the issues related to private schools.

The commission will be constituted shortly and the members will be senior bureaucrats, teachers, members of parents association, said Meetpal Singh Dugri while addressing the agitating protestors.

Meetpal Singh Dugri said that after the parents of students of private school approached SOI, he took the matter with Deputy Chief Minister and later Deputy Commissioner was also involved to solve the issue.

Accompanied by Raja Kang, Sahib Chawla, Jashan Kang and others, Meetpal Dugri said that he was informed by government and Deputy Commissioner that Regulatory commission for private schools at Punjab level will be formed shortly.

The parents sitting on hunger strike said that Meetpal Singh Dugri was coordinating with regularly and they were convinced by the assurance of SOI leader.
