Panjab University to host 3rd World Congress on Excellence from Oct 19-23

Chandigarh, October 16, 2015: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh would host 3rd World Congress on Excellence from October 19 to October 23. 
As many as 700 delegates from different parts of the world like Canada, Belgium,Germany, Greece, Russia, Srilanka, USA, Australia, India would participate in the World Congress, which is being organized on behalf of International Society of Mental Training for excellence, in conjunction with Asia Pacific Association of Psychology. 
This is the first time when this prestigious World Congress in the field of Psychology is being hosted in India. The Department of Psychology, P.U. is the host department. The event has futuristic orientations for the young students, researchers, academicians,
sportsperson. The prestigious World Congress would be conglomeration of Psychologists, Mental Trainers, Management Experts, Medical Scientists, Neurologists and Yoga experts from all over the world. 
Governor of Haryana & Punjab and UT Administrator Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki would inaugurate the World Congress at 10 AM on October 19 at University Auditorium, PU.Well known global experts in various fields of Mental Training and Psychology like Prof. Terry Orlick(Canada), Prof. Emeritus Jitendra Mohan(India), Prof. Andreas Stavropoulos(Greece), Prof. Guy Joseph Ale(USA), Prof Colin C. Ward (USA), Dr. Michel Gagne (Malaysia), Prof. Bernd Schmid(Germany), Prof. Lars-Eric Unestahl(Sweden), Prof.
Valerii Malkin(Russia), Prof. Nicole Ruysschaert(Belgium),  Padma Shri Prof. Amod Gupta(India), Prof. K. Ramakrishna Rao(India), Prof. Kirti Singhe (Sri Lanka) and Professor  Emeritus  C. R. Mukandan(India) would deliver lectures in different sessions.
Talking to media persons at PU today, Conference Director and President of International Society of Mental Training for Excellence (ISMTE) Prof. Jitendra Mohan informed that the 3rd World Congress on Excellence is the first of its kind as it takes into its folds,
diversity and integrity of all kinds. This congress presents a variety of ideas, activities and opportunities. It provides an apt forum for enrichment and empowerment of minds. It envisages of a beautiful future which can be evolved through the empowering concept of excellence, he added.
Prof. Mohan informed that the themes of the congress include Excellence: the Meaning, Methods, Relations to the developmental model, Theories and Strategies to march towards endless enrichment in life, sports and science; Excellence in Life, Sports, Health,
Arts, Education, Business and Peace; Alternative States of Consciousness: Yoga, Meditation, Mindfulness, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Hypnosis; The Shaping of an Athlete: Winner and Champion; Coaching Revolution: New Paradigms in Mentoring and Leading; Research in the fields of Sports Psychology, Positive Psychology, Health Psychology, Peace Psychology, Education and Management; Leadership in Sport, Business and Armed Forces; Emerging Trends in Creativity and Innovation. 
The 3rd World Congress on Excellence brings into focus, the concept of excellence. In adherence to the policy of having International Collaborations, during this congress, there will be signing of Memoranda of Understanding between Valaya Alongkam Rajabhat University (Thailand) and Department of Psychology, PU and also between Antioch University (Seattle) and Department of Psychology, PU. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
