Panjab University to honour Anupam Kher; Kirron Kher andnumber of other alumni

Chandigarh, November 14, 2016: Panjab University (PU) would honour renowned actor Shri Anupam Kher; Chandigarh Member Parliament Smt.Kirron Kher and a number of other alumni at the PU Alumni Meet on November 26, 2016. The PU alumni, who have excelled in their professions and have made significant contributions to the society in the areas of business/industry, social service, literature, sports, science and social science, art and culture would be honoured on the occasion.
PU Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover informed that renowned actor and distinguished PU alumnus Shri Anupam Kher has agreed to be the Chief Guest on the occasion. He along with Member Parliament, Chandigarh and distinguished PU alumna
Smt. Kirron Kher would interact with alumni, faculty, students and staff.
In the backdrop of ongoing Balwant Gargi centenary celebrations, Sh Anupam Kher will converse with Smt Kirron Kher about their evolution as an artist. Both Sh Anupam Kher and Smt Kirron Kher studied at PU and their conversation about their life trajectory would certainly inspire the students, he added. The program will be webcast live, he added.
Prof Grover informed that a pictorial representation of PU in the form of Coffee Table book and Souvenir is also being produced and the same would be released on the inaugural ceremony.
Dean Alumni Prof Anil Monga informed that entry to the alumni meet is open to PU alumni and they can get themselves registered upto November 21, 2016 by sending forms. Forms and further details are available on www.alumni.puchd.ac.in, he added. He also appealed the PU Alumni to attend the meet and take Life membership of PU by paying Rs 1000 one time fees.
