Panjab University decides to extend concessions to wards of Kashmiri Displaced persons for admission to various courses in academic session 2016-17

Chandigarh, July 28, 2016: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has decided to extend the concessions to the wards of Kashmiri Displaced persons for admission to various courses in the academic session 2016-17.
The Kashmiri migrant/their wards would be admitted to various courses being offered by the University during the academic session 2016-17, on the pattern of the session 2015-16. The University has extended the various concessions to the wards of Kashmiri Migrants /Displaced Persons for the Session 2016-2017.
However the candidates would have to fulfill the conditions. Under no circumstances, the requirement of entrance test, wherever applicable, shall be relaxed; the applicant would have to produce/submit a certificate to the effect that he/she is a ward of Kashmiri displaced person, issued by an authorized Government officer; and while giving such concessions, it would be scrutinized whether the person is really Kashmiri (permanent resident of Kashmir) migrated to other states or he/she is a temporary resident of Kashmir but not actually a Kashmiri who shifted to other states.
Five percent weightage would be given and the merit be determined accordingly provided that the candidate fulfilled the minimum prescribed qualifications (including Entrance Test), wherever applicable, for all courses including Professional and technical courses of the University Teaching Departments and the affiliated colleges.
Five percent increase intake subject to maximum of 3 seats ( to be treated as additional seat(s) per course at the entry point be made in all courses at under-graduate and post-graduate level in all the Arts and Science affiliated Colleges and Panjab University Teaching departments wherever the reservation policy approved by the University was applicable.
One additional seat over and above the sanctioned strength would be created in the various Professional courses of B.Ed., M.Ed., LL.B., B.A.LL.B.(Honours), LL.M., B.Lib., M.Lib., B.Pharm., M.Pharm., M. Mass Communication, M.C.A., M.B.A., M. Tech. (Inst.), M. Tech. (Micro-Electronics), M. Sc. (Bio-Tech), M.E. (Chem), B.E. and all the new courses at the University and the affiliated Colleges.
