PAMTEI Holds Management Development Programme

Ludhiana, August 24, 2015: To improve the managerial capacities of women extension functionaries, a management development programme was jointly organized by the Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMTEI), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. A total of 22 participants attended the programme.

Dr K. Uma Rani, Director, Centre for Women and Household Food and Nutritional Security, Urban Agriculture and Edible Greening, MANAGE, Hyderabad inaugurated the programme and discussed the systematic approach, teamwork and conflict management with the participants.

Ms Rupinder Kaur, Deputy Director-HRM, PAMETI discussed the principles of management. “Management development is not only limited to job performance, but also involves improvement in knowledge, personality, attitude and behaviour of a person,” she said.

Experts from PAU and other specialized fields delivered talks and held discussions with the participants on other skills such as communication: presentation and documentation skills, leadership skills, delegation and authority, change management, stress management etc.
