PADDY PROCUREMENT: 109,43,694 MT Paddy Procured In Punjab

Chandigarh, November 4, 2015:  An official spokesman of the Punjab government said that 109,43,694 MT of Paddy had been procured in the state till last evening. The government agencies procured 106,59,674 MT for central pool. The private traders procured 2,84,020 MT of paddy.

        Giving agency wise procurement details, he said that PUNGRAIN was at the top in paddy procurement by procuring 33,55,460 MT (31.5%) whereas MARKFED procured maximum of 24,16,077 MT (22.7%) PUNSUP procured 22,85,670 MT (21.4%) and PSWC 10,22,573 MT (9.6%). The Central government agency FCI could procure 5,49,111 MT (5.2%) of paddy for the central pool.

                Meanwhile, according to the spokesperson of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, detailed guidelines to execute smooth and hassle free procurement operations in the state have already been issued to the concerned. Necessary arrangements have also been made in all the 1806 purchase centres of Punjab. An appeal was also made to the commission agents to submit their bills immediately after the purchase so that the online payments could also be made accordingly.
