Obstacles are Designed to Make you Stronger: Vivan Singh Gill

Ludhiana, April 17, 2017: Fortis Hospital Ludhiana organised motivational session for their employees to raise their level of empathy for the patients and attendants under the leadership of Mr.Vivan Singh Gill, Director, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana.

Like all the previous training session, the impact of this gathering was felt even higher by the participants and the stake holders. The whole session was based on the 2 days Inter-Departmental Role exchange Program executed between the Nursing Department and FNB (Food and Beverages). Two observers each from the Nursing and FNB went into each other’s department to work in their role and feel the Pain areas come at the real time situation. This brings them the opportunity to understand the issues of other departments.

Co- Facilitating the whole session, Mr. Gill added that the entire Role Exchange Program was based on the concept of being empathetic for your colleagues and only than you can be kind for your patients and attendants. Nursing Department and FNB demonstrated the role play from their one best observation during the role exchange program to demonstrate what they feel after exchange their duties.

After the Role Play, the entire session was spent on discussing the facts on handling difficult situations with compassion

Dr. Ajaypal Singh Sandhu, Head Psychiatry Department, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana contributed with their valuable insights on how effective Introduction and Mannerism shown towards the Patients and Attendants can change the whole experience of patients handling. Also present on the occasion were Ms. Amarjeet Kaur, Deputy Manager, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana.

The session was held under the observation of Mr. Shrikant Juneja, Unit Training Head, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana. More than 100 staff members from the various Departments attended and shared their significant inputs.
