Nominations invited for national awards for e-governance

Chandigarh, August 27, 2012: The Union Ministry for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has sought nominations from all the state governments, central ministry department, UTs, district, local bodies, public sector undertakings, civil societies organizations and industry for different categories of National Awards for e-governance.

According to an official spokespersons these awards have been instituted in the areas of Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering, Exemplary Re-use of ICT-based solutions, Outstanding performance in Citizen-Centric Service Delivery, Innovative Use of Technology in e-Governance, Innovative Use of ICT by PSUs for Customer’s Benefits, Best Government Portal and Specific Sectoral Award: Focus sector for current year: Social Sector Programs to recognize and promote excellence in implementation of e-Governance initiatives.

The Spokesman said that these awards would be presented during 16^th National Conference on e-Governance scheduled to be held on February 2013.
