NIIFT Students Once Again Showcase Their Creativity

Ludhiana, May 26, 2016: The graduating students of Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Ludhiana on Wednesday evening showcased their creative talent through –‘ANU KAMA 16’ an Annual Design Collection Show. Versatile outfits designed especially for theme-based sequences by NIIFT, Ludhiana students were gracefully portrayed by professional models as they walked down the ramp.
Sh.Madan Mohan Mittal, Hon’ble Minister, Industries and Commerce, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab conveyed his blessings to the passing out students. The Director General, NIIFT, Director, NIIFT and Centre Incharge, NIIFT, Ludhiana gave away the awards to the winners.
Smt. Tanu Kashyap, IAS, Director General, NIIFT graced the occassion. Others present during the occasion were Sh. Inderjit Singh, Director, Mr. Mahesh Khanna, Centre Incharge, NIIFT, Ludhiana, Dr.Poonam Aggarwal, Deputy Registrar, Dr. Simrita Singh, Show Coordinator, Ms. Rajwinder Kaur, Course Coodinator, Fashion Design Department and all faculty and staff from NIIFT, Mohali, Ludhiana & Jalandhar.
The show was a success with the ramp dazzling with designer outfits worn by some of the renowned models as-

Rashmi – Miss India & Miss Tourism
Meenakshi- Miss Style Diva
Kanchan – Kingfisher Super model
Aanchal – Indian Princess finalist
Rashmi – Miss India Personality
Students created mesmerizing collections following various themes. It was choreographed by renowned choreographer, Kaushik Ghosh and the venue was Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan, Ludhiana.
‘Anu kama 16’ was a design collection show where 2.5 years of thorough training and six months of diligent preparation were presented. Each student of Fashion Design Department individually had worked on a theme and presented five ensembles related to that theme.
The students of NIIFT, Ludhiana were specially trained to solve problems and undertake explorations relating to latest technology, raw materials and processes to develop creative collections.
The show presented a rich blend of lovely 19 collections designed by talented and creative Fashion Graduates from Ludhiana centre.These young students came up with fabulous collections, high on style quotient ranging from very wearable to ultra experimental ones. The students also had creatively used woven’s, knits, rib, woolen blends, silk, cotton, appliqué work, digital printing, traditional embroideries, laser cutting to enhance the creativity of their themes and collections.

* Most Art & Skill Implementation Collection award-

Sh. Madan Mohan Mittal, Hon’ble Minister, Industries and Commerce, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab appreciated the efforts of the students and blessed them.
Sh. Anirudh Tewari, IAS, Chairman, NIIFT and Principal Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce, Punajb wished them luck for a bright career ahead.
Smt. Tanu Kashyap, IAS, Director General, NIIFT, Mohali,said, “ Fashion is everchanging and the only thing constant in Fashion is the essence of change which our students depicted in a very colorful and trendy way.”
