Commerce Day Celebrations in HMV

Jalandhar, March 21, 2016: PG Department of Commerce and Management of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized Commerce Day Celebrations in memory of father of scientific management, FW Taylor. Dr.Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj congratulated the department of commerce for organizing it’s first ever Commerce Day. She said that we can only grow commercially, if we have required physical growth, mental growth and spiritual growth. She explained that commerce makes you disciplined and systematic. Programme Coordinator Prof. Binoo Gupta told that event was organized to celebrate the 160th birth anniversary of FW Taylor and to pay tribute for his contributions in the field of management. . On the occasion, various activities and competitions like group discussions, poster making and ad-mad show competitions were held. The panel of judges consisted of Mrs. Navroop, Dean Youth Welfare, Miss Shama Sharma, Mrs. Rama Sharma, Dr. Nidh Kochhar and CA Ms. Swinky. Gulfam Virdi got first position in Group discussion, Amanat Kaur Sidhu, Aabha Lachhotra and Shveta Batra got first, second and third positions respectively in poster making competitions. B.Com. First year K2 stood first, B.Com. second year K1 stood second and the B.Com. Prof. Second year P1 stood third in Ad-mad show. Gulfam Virdi also presented a power point presentation on highlighting the importance of commerce day. On this occasion, Mrs. Meenu Kohli, Dr. Seema Khanna, Mrs. Kajal Puri, Mrs. Shikha Chhabra, Mrs. Savita Mahendru, Mrs. Kranti Wadhwa, Mrs. Veena Arora, Mrs. Geetika Mahajan and others were also present. At the end Mrs. Binoo Gupta gave vote of thanks.
