Nexus Sports Organised the P4P Cup - a First of Its Kind T20 Corporate Cricket Tournament in India

New Delhi, May 28, 2015: Nexus Sports, a young sports startup organized a first of its kind corporate cricket tournament in Delhi. Based on the T20 format, the P4P Cup has its vision etched in the unique brand ethos of Play for Planet, Play for People and Play for Passion. The spectacle kick started in the first week of March and ended in the third week of May, 2015 with the final match between the two  finalists FIS and Sark Logistics at Greater Noida Authority Stadium, Swarn Nagri, Pari Chowk, wherein FIS became the winner of the first ever P4P Cup.

Nexus Sports envisioned to create India’s first batch of eco sports warriors by utilizing this platform as an opportunity to contribute to the society as well as enhancing the participating organization’s brand image. With every sixer, bowl, direct hit and stump, a new sapling is adopted on behalf of the participating team, in collaboration with a recognized and registered NGO, thus ensuring that every person plays for the planet. Secondly from the participation fees of every team, 5% is donated to sponsor a child’s education thus establishing the play for people initiative. Thirdly the play for passion initiative inculcated team spirit, teamwork, and team bonding through a passionate game of cricket. The P4P Cup ensured that every participant become an eco-sport warrior, saves the environment, helps in reducing carbon footprint and also empowers the weak.

This tournament was played in the league and knockout format. The finals witnessed Cricket stalwarts like Anil Jain [ Honorable Joint Secretary (Sports), DDCA ], Vijay Bahadur Mishra [ Convenor, BCCI ], Jamsher Khan ( Indian International Hockey Player for a decade, Silver Medalist Asia Cup 1993, Worked with Shah Rukh Khan in Chak De India) and Pawan Sharma [ Delhi U-19 Selector ].

On the same day, Nexus Sports also had the privilege to celebrate their sporting excellence by organising a Summer Cup for HDFC, one of the finest financial institutions in the world. The match was played between the teams of HDFC Retail Assets & HDFC Branch Banking. The teams had players from various branches across the city who took the field despite boiling heat and played out a wonderful match. The presentation ceremony had Mr. Chetan Chadha , Vice President, HDFC who handed out the winning trophy to team Retail Assets, with Mr. Sant Ram Chaudhary winning the Bowler of the match after taking 4 wickets and Mr. Jannat Wadhwa (Regional Head) winning the Batsman of the match after a knock of 37 runs consisting of 3 towering sixes.
