Chandigarh, July 17, 2015: Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Mr Anil Vij today said that with a view to meet the shortage of coaches, 624 coaches would soon be recruited and appointed in stadiums in all districts.
The Sports Minister said that after this, rationalisation would be done so as to provide all districts with equal sports opportunities. He said that hockey, football, volleyball, basketball, kho-kho and kabaddi are six such sports which are mainly played in Haryana. Therefore, the coaches would be appointed as per the sports mainly played in various areas of the state.
Mr Anil Vij today also gave approval for laying of Astroturf and construction of 'Vyayam and Yoga Shalas' in Ambala. He issued directions to officers of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department to begin its construction so that players could be provided with sports facilities at the earliest possible. The Yoga Shalas, which are being constructed in Ambala would be provided with basic facilities like toilets and changing room. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
