A newborn male baby which was found abandoned in debris in a park near Sabzi Mandi by the Salem Tabri police at Ludhiana on Monday morning, being handed over to the officials of Swami Ganga Nand Bhuriwale International Foundation Dham Talwandi Khurd, near Mullanpur Dakha in Ludhiana district.

Ludhiana, February 25, 2013: A newborn male baby which was found abandoned in debris in a park near Sabzi Mandi by the Salem Tabri police here on Monday morning, has been handed over to the officials of Swami Ganga Nand Bhuriwale International Foundation Dham Talwandi Khurd, near Mullanpur Dakha in Ludhiana district.

When contacted this evening, the foundation’s secretary Kuldip Singh told that the police had recovered the child at around 6 am today.

On a directive from the Ludhiana District Social Security Officer, the recovered baby had been handed over to the foundation.

Singh told that the doctors confirmed that the recovered baby was born about 48 hours ago.

He said at the time of adoption of the child, ASI Barinder Singh from Police Station Salem Tabri, the foundation’s president Bibi Jasbir Kaur, adoption coordinator Ramanjot Kaur Grewal, Dr. Harpreet and he himself was present.

Replying to a question, he told that the foundation had adopted 45 abandoned children so far. The youngest was one who was adopted today. The eldest child was doing graduation (part I), he revealed.
