STOP vulgarity and nudity on TV Channels: Bapu Mehra

Ferozepur, July 11, 2013: In a memorandum sent to Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister and Manish Tiwari, Information and Broadcasting Minister, Punjab, Bapu Jatinder Mehra, National President, All India Khatri Maha Sabha has appealed that Censor Board should put a check on telecast of obscene and nudity on TV channels.

Speaking to the media persons, Bapu Mehra said, “It has been observed that since long the vulgarity, obscenity, indecency and nudity has rapidly increased on the TV channels and the Censor Board is merely working as a mute spectator.

Bapu Mehra said, ‘There are number of stage show, serials and films in which indecency and nudity both are being shown openly and one cannot view the same while sitting in the joint family”.

He further said, “The adverse effect of these programmes is showing its impact on the youths especially the children and in case the Censor Board is not serious about its duties and responsibilities, then in the coming days it will have serious consequences”.

Bapu Mehra has demanded to stop all this non-sense and religious and knowledgeable progmmes should be relayed part from strengthening the Censor Board to keep a proper vigil before telecast the programmes on various TV channels.
