New Education Policy to be formulated with consultations of all States, Smriti Zubin Irani

Jalandhar, March 29, 2015:  A new education policy would be formulated by the end of December 2015 and stress would be given on girls Science and Technical education.
This was stated by Union Human Resource and Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani at an annual Convocation function of local Kanya Maha Vidyalaya here today.
She said the new education policy is in the pipe line and with the consultations of the States final education policy would be given final shape by the end of November 2015.She said earlier there was a meeting over this subject on March 21, 2015, to know the views of educationists and their ones for forming the National Education policy.
Irani said that this would be for the first time in the history that an education policy would be finalised with consultation of all the States. She made fervent appeal to the   girls that they should choose their own career with their open mind.
With the help of all the IIMS, IIT's, Central Universities and other Educational Institutions a National forum of Education policy would be formulated and with the University Grants Commission  (UGC) as many as 80 new vocational courses would be introduced.
A cheque of   Rs 4 Lakh was handed over by the Principal of the KMV College Atima Sharma for Prime Minister's Relief fund.
