Ludhiana, August 9, 2014: Vikas Gupta, Joint Managing Director (JMD), Earth GroupVikas Gupta, Joint Managing Director (JMD), Earth Group, has welcomed a decision of the state government wherein NOCs to plot holders of post 1995 unauthorised colonies has been granted in Punjab. These NOCs are being given to those plot holders who had applied for regularisation as per the policy guidelines issued by the Punjab Government.
As per the available information total 2,49,447 plot holders had applied for regularisation out of which 1,41,496 plot holders belonged to municipal areas and had applied to local government department. Besides, 1,07,951 plot holders having plots outside municipal limit had applied to development agencies such as GMADA, GLADA, JDA and ADA.  A total 1,85,504 plot holders, who had deposited 100 percent regularisation money and their regularisatioin papers were in order, have already been issued NOCs by the respective agencies.
Gupta said with this development the long-pending issue seems to be resolved, adding, the plot holders in post 1995 unauthorised colonies have felt a sigh of relief. The decision of the state government has now given the right to all plot holders having NOCs to do their sale and purchase of plots/properties on the basis of NOCs and get their sale deed register in the office of concerned sub registrar.
Gupta said the state government seems to have taken this decision in the larger interest of people, adding, the recent move will encourage construction activities in Punjab. “I personally feel that the recent decision of the state government will give a boost to the construction activities, which were sluggish not only in Punjab but in other states as well due to many reasons”, he added.
At the same time, there is a need that the state government should launch a drive for creating awareness among masses to go in for authorised colonies in the future, he said, adding people must be told that only authorised and planned colonies have better facilities and infrastructure.
