National Youth Day being celebrated at KMV, Jalandhar on Tuesday.
Jalandhar, January 12, 2016: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar’s ‘Swami Vivekananda Society’ formed by the Department of Political Science & NSS Department, Department of Student Welfare and Vedic Research Centre celebrated the National Youth Day in order to commemorate the 153rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda Ji. Principal KMV, Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi was the Chief Speaker of the programme. In her talk she spoke about the extraordinary personality to this great Indian ambassador to the whole world. She stressed that Swami loved the youth most. He considered them nation-builders and his message she quoted was Arise, awake and stop not until your goal is achieved.”Exemplifying Swami Ji as the bridge b/w the Western Scientific temper and eastern spirituality she said he was also a bridge between have and haven’ts. She concluded by quoting another of Swami Ji’s saying that “All the powers of the Universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands on our eyes and cry that it is dark. She congratulated the organised for a fruitful and inspiring celebration. A spectrum of literary activities was organised for the youth in the on campus celebrations. An essay competition on the extraordinary life of the Swami was a part of the literary activities. A mobile on the spot quiz based on the life of Swami Vivekananda Ji was also conducted.
