NATIONAL VOTER’S DAY celebrated in PUNJAB

Chandigarh, January 25, 2013: National Voter Day was celebrated all over the state with all employees taking oath to exercise their right of franchise rising above linguistic community, caste or religious consideration to strengthen the democratic institutions of the country.

In a function organised in the election office, the Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Sukhdev Lal administered the oath to all employees of the office.

In a separate function in the Information and Public Relations department, Additional Secretary-cum-Additional Director of the department Gurwaryam Singh administered the oath to the employees as they vowed to ensure to vote without any duress or pressure to strengthen the democratic conventions of the country.
