Talwandi Sabo, December 10, 2015: Gagandeep Kaur student B.A. from Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo participated in All India Inter-University Boxing Championship held at Kurkshetra and won Bronze Medal. Dr. Kewal Singh, Director Sports GKU stated that this student also participated in Sub-Junior Boxing World Cup held at Bulgaria in 2013. Apart from this she is Gold Medalist of 2013 School National Boxing Championship. As per University rules she was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 20000/-(Twenty Thousand).
S. Gurlabh Singh Sidhu, Chairman GKU congratulated Gagandeep Kaur, her parents and coaches for this achievement. He also assured every sort of help to the brilliant students in sports and academia. At the time of honouring ceremony to the Gagandeep Kaur, S.S. Sidhu (Managing Director), Dr. N.S. Malhi (Vice Chancellor), Col. Dr. B.S. Dhaliwal (Dean Academics), Dr. Amit Tuteja (Deputy Registrar), Gurdev Singh Kot Fatta (Admin Officer), Dr. Pawan Kumar Garg Dean Basic Sciences College, Coaches Prof. K.P.S. Mahi and Hrdeep Singh, other staff members and S. Jagsir Singh father of Gagandeep Kaur were present.
