International level multi sport stadium and hockey stadium, worth Rs. 116 crore, which is being constructed by Punjab Government at SAS Nagar.

SAS Nagar, July 17, 2013: Now, with the completion of International level multi sport stadium and hockey stadium, worth Rs. 116 crore, which is being constructed by Punjab Government at SAS Nagar, the city will be branded as Sports-Hub in the world.

This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu, he said that 7 multi sport stadiums are being constructed at different places in the city, which are near completion. Besides these, International level hockey stadium worth Rs. 50 crore, which was under construction, has also been completed almost.

Deputy Commissioner said that work for these stadiums is being done on war-footing & final touches are being given to the construction activities of these stadiums. He said that multi sport stadium worth Rs. 3 crore 80 lacs is being constructed at Sector 61, will also be got completed shortly. He said that National and International sports level tournaments will be held at this International multi sport stadium and this will boost up the sports activities. He said that with the completion of International level Hockey stadium and other 7 international multi sport stadiums in the city, SAS Nagar will become a city of maximum International level sport stadiums.

Sidhu said that there will be 2 badminton courts and 2 table-tennis halls and besides gym facility there will also be provision of Basket ball court, Volley-ball court, Skating rink, Football ground and 2 Lawn Tennis courts, in multi sport stadium, at sector 61. He said that stadium at sector 61 will serve the district players with modern facilities as well as it will also be beneficial for rural players from other districts.

Sidhu said that there will be proper sitting arrangement for the viewers so that they could enjoy the sports. Besides these, there will be sufficient parking space for vehicles to facilitate players and spectators coming from other areas.
