Ludhiana: Monsoon will remain subdued with isolated rain/thundershowers during next 72 hrs, rainfall activity will increase thereafter. According to Agroadvisory Bulletin released by PAU, Ludhiana on July 19, said during this period, maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain between 30-36oC and 25-28oC, respectively. The maximum relative humidity is expected to remain between 46-90% and minimum between 25-78% during these days.
If leaf damage in rice by rice leaf folder reaches 10 % (economic threshold level), spray the crop with 20ml of Fame 480 SC (flubendiamide) or 170g Mortar of 75SG (cartap hydrochloride) or 350 ml of Marktriazo/Sutathion 40 EC (triazophos) or one litre of Carbon/ Durmet/ Force 20 EC (chlorpyriphos) or 560ml of Monocil 36 SL (monocrotophos) in 100 litres of water per acre.
For white fly incidence, when whitefly population reaches 6 adults per leaf in the upper canopy of cotton plants before 10 AM. Spray insecticides preferably before 12 noon or in the evening. Spray 200 g Craze50 WP / Polo or 600 ml Sutathion/ Marktriazo 40 EC or 800 ml Fosmite/ E-mite/ Volthion 50 EC or 200 ml Oberon 240 SC per acre. For the control of Jassid in cotton, spray 80 g/acre Ulala 50 WG or 40 ml Confidor/Confidence/Imidacel/Markdor 200 SL or 40 g/acre Actara/Extra super/Dotara/ Thomson (thiamethoxam) 25 WG in 125-150 litres of water. If initial symptoms of Parawilt appeared in cotton, spray the affected plants with cobalt chloride @ 10 mg per litre of water immediately.
The weather is favourable for fruit rot and die back in chilli, spray the crop with 750 g of Indofil-M 45 or Blitox in 250 litres of water per acre at 10 days interval during clear days.
For the management of fruit drop in kinnow, spray the crop with Ziram 27 SC (1250 ml) or Propiconazole 25 EC (500 ml) or Bavistin 50 WP (500 gm) in 500 litres of water per acre in end July.
During summer season special care is required for milking animals. Their diet should contain 2-3 per cent more crude protein content and therefore increase 5 to 7 per cent more oilseed cakes in the concentrate mixture. Save the animals from ticks, lice and flies as these parasites cause irritation and spread various diseases. Animal shed should be dry, airy and well ventilated.
