Ludhiana, December 11, 2016: The 20th annual Punjab Ophthamological Society conference(Drishti 3) concluded today at Dayanand medical College.The 3rd day conference was attended by a large number of delegates and the guest speakers from across the country and abroad.In the morning, the delegates participated in a cyclethon “Paddle for Sight” from DMC to Bharat Nagar Chowk and back.This novel venture was organized to raise awareness for various eye disorders and the strengthen the fight against preventable blindness.It also aimed to motivating the masses to adopt a healthy lifestyle.The Chairman Scientific Committee Dr B S Bhaura said that despite the cold weather, the enthusiasm of the delegates for the cyclethon was commendable.Organising Committee Chairman, Dr. G S Bajwa urged the people to pledge their eyes for the eye donation which can help provide the gift of sight to many patients who are blinded by corneal disorders.

The scientific program started with guest lectures and discussions on various topics such as retina, cataract, refractive surgeries and pediatric Ophthalmology.Emphasis was laid on better visual rehabilitation and post operative care of the patients.

For the budding eye doctors, a young diagnosis and management of various eye disorders, tricks and tips of eye surgery and how to manage complications.EYE Q, an eye quiz was also held with the teams comprising of the post graduate residents from the various medical colleges of the state.
