Ferozepur, July 19, 2014: Living up to the expectations of Ferozepur residents, Kamal Sharma, President, BJP, Punjab gave yet another good news to the residents of this Border Area. Kamal Sharma said that the Modi-led government is keen to open Hussainiwala Border for trade, which was closed after the aftermath of 1971 war. He also said a survey has been initiated.
Kamal Sharma said that the Commerce Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister, Nirmala Sitaraman and his counterpart from Pakistani Government Dastgir Khan, shall meet on July 23 in Bhutan.  
Keeping the importance of this meeting in mind, the government has deputed Bureau of Research on Industry and Economics Fundamentals (BRIEF), which has sent a team for survey for trade prospectus between these two countries. The two member team visited Hussainiwala and Sulemani Border personally and met the representatives of various social organisations.
Sharma said that the research team shall submit its reports after having discussion with Industrialists, Hotel owner, Traders and tourists to Indian Council for Research on International Economics Relations (ICRIER).
Sharma said the opening of Hussainiwala Border will give a new lease of life to the dying industry of this region. The trade between two countries shall provide job opportunities to thousands of people of this border area.
Deputy Commissioner DPS Kharbanda said that administration shall provide any kind of information which is required to the survey team.
