Ministry of Defense cleared de-notification of Cantt Board YO: Sudhir

Dharamshala, January 18, 2017: The Central Government has given its principle the permission to abolish cantonment board Yol near Dharamshala. Informing this in Dharamshala the Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma said, “The Civil areas now under Cantonment board shall be included in Dharamshala Municipal Corporation and Yol shall only be considered as a Military Station.”

Sharma said that Yol is the 1st Cant Board of India to be abolished to facilitate the civilians, which was made possible only due to the regular dialogue with the centre by the Himachal government. Sharma thanked Vir Bhadra Singh CM Himachal to make it possible.

Sudhir Said,”The Ministry of Defense, Government of India have asked the state government to undertake the properties of the area.” He said the staff ot cant board shall be absorbed in HP government and the five schools, vocational training center and 20 beded hospital buildings and land shall be purchased by HP government. The different departments of the state shall undertake the departments of yol associate to them after the de-notification of Cant Board Yol.
