Mega Youth Health Awareness Rally organised by Ludhiana Pedallers Club
Ludhiana, August 17, 2015: Ludhiana Pedallers Club organised a Youth Awareness Rally as a tribute to Dr AP J Abdul Kalam,the favorite President of India on the occasion of 69th year of independence of our country . The rally commenced from West End Mall and was flagged off by Dr. NS Malhi, Vice Chancellor,Guru Kashi University and Prof. Gurbhajan Gill, a prominent Punjabi poet. About 200 cyclists of the club enthusiastically participated in it, wearing yellow hallmark turbans as worn by Shahid Bhagat Singh, the great martyr. The rally  was open to one and all which included a number of women and children participating in large numbers .  A unique wall dedicated in Ghumar Mandi market,dedicated to the cyclists with the motto of the club "Cycling for health and happiness" was inaugurated by Ranjodh Singh, Patron of the Club in presence of rally enthusiasts, accompanied by Davinder Singh Nagi, President ,Jagdeep Malhotra, Secretary and Gurinder Singh Cashier. It has been sponsored by Gagan Kalra, a prominent Industrialist of the city.
One of the highlights of the rally was a mammoth bicycle replica decorated tastefully in tricolor to give the fervor of patriotism and encourage cycling to save the environment,designed by Surjit Singh Matharoo. . The rally ended at the West End Mall after following the route From Mall Road, Pakhowal Road, and Malhar Road. It was very well organised with the cordial help of Punjab Police and the Traffic Police. With cooperation of all and huge participation, the rally succeeded in spreading the message of drug free society, healthy life and focus on stress free living.
