Meeting of District Planning Board with FICO on CLU issue

Ludhiana, November 21, 2014: A meeting of District Planning Board with Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organisation (FICO) was held under the chairmanship of Hira Singh Gabhria chairman of District Planning Board regarding the Change of Land Use (CLU) for industry. 

The FICO president Gurmeet Singh Kular told that Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) is not sanctioning connections to the industry because they want CLU but the Punjab Government had already waived off CLU for industry. 

He said now meeting of Municipal Corporation and PSPCL would be held on November 25 and final meeting with Industry would be held on November 28 following which final decision would be announced. 

He said FICO urged Gabhria that there are thousands of connections which were pending due to CLU. He urged that these connections be released without CLU so that the industry could get relief.

He opined that if PSPCL sanctions power connections then the government would generate more revenue in shape of VAT and Central Excise and industry would grow.

Rachpal Singh Chief Engineer PSPCL, Manjeet Singh Zonal Commissioner, Harpal Singj Bhamber President Janta Nagar Small Scale Manufacturers Association, Balbir Singh Mankoo Finance Secretary FICO and Satnam Singh Makkar president Dhandari Industrial Welfare Association were among those present.
