Jalandhar, July 13, 2016: To mark the beginning of the new academic session 2016-17, DAV College Jalandhar organised a Havan today. The havan was conducted right at the outset of the academic session to welcome students and to bring to them the blessings of the Almighty for the year ahead.
" Tamso ma jyotirgymya " that implies a silver ray of hope and knowledge in the darkness of ignorance and illiteracy , continuing the golden traditions , DAV College Jalandhar commenced its yet another blossoming new academic session with a pious hawan yagya . Principal Dr B B Sharma , Swami Surya Dev Ji, Chairman LAC Shri Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Principal Jagroop Singh, Principal Raj Kumar Sharma, Shri Mayor, Shri C L Kochhar, Shri R K Mahajan and the entire dav family offered chantings and prayers for a divine start of the session .
Principal Dr B B Sharma initially gave his heartfelt wishes to the students and them imparted knowledge about the rules and regulations governing the Arya Samaj and Dav college institution and inspired the students to work with stern commitment and perseverance.
He quoted "Following and pursuing Arya Samaj principles , rituals etc , connects us extensively to life and leads us to the desired path of self fulfillement " . Arya Samaj has been contributing a lot to education and by incorporating the Vedas in our life we can experience the eternal happiness , pleasure and respect.
While inaugurating the new session Dr B B Sharma quoted "the students need to coin our their goals well in advance , and with smartness and good hard work they should strive towards accomplishment of the goals"
Further he told how DAV is providing the education at its best , to all the able students who deserve such a quality education . The college organises such educational programmes which are often student centered , which enhances thier academic proficiency.
Principal Dr B B Sharma further quoted how well organised and delligent is the DAV staff , who are always present for all the support and assistance to thier students and they all ensure with proper compliance that each student achieves the goal of academic proficiency and they become ever challenging professionals , curious hardworking humans and productive researchers "
Dr B B Sharma at this ocaasion regarding the second “niyam” of arya samaj and explained its implications for any human life . He quoted “God is existent, intelligent and blissful. He is formless, omniscient, just, merciful, unborn, endless, unchangeable, beginning-less, unequalled, the support of all, the master of all, omnipresent, immanent, un-aging, immortal, fearless, eternal, and holy, and the maker of all. He alone is worthy of being worshipped.” He exclaimed the power of trusting in that omnipotent God .
In the end he gave his heartiest welcome to the entire DAV family in the new session 2016 -2017 and quoted " I have the pleasure to congractulate you all to be an integral part of our family , where success is not an option -its a passion to be pursued -a priority to be achieved "
On this occasion, esteemed personality Swali Surya Dev Ji recited various devotional Mantras to invoke God from heaven to pour their blessings on the new aspiring buds to study harder and to touch the pinnacles of glory in their respective courses. He said that the blending of spiritualism and education always opens the floodgates of learning from traditional times and it is a matter of privilege for these new students to start their higher education with the blessings of God.
He further quoted regarding the supremacy of the VEDAS and said Vedas are actually a body of knowledge and the scriptures say: “ The Vedas are the breath of God.” They can be rightly called the treasure-trove of Hindu religion, tradition and culture. They contain codes of righteous conduct and are supposed to have been taught by God Himself thousands of years ago. They help build moral integrity and norms that are applicable even today and these Vedas are a epitome of knowledge and establish the strong roots of any civilization.
Swami Surya Dev Ji quoted "just like an uneducated person cannot show way of hope to anyone , just like them a person without the knowledge of these Vedas , no one can impart happiness and contentment to any individual. Vedas are rich with the personal , societal , national and international aspects . he further quoted that just like the evergreen sunrays, the Vedas and it's contents are open to all , and are ready to inspire all the creatures in this universe.
Further he quoted that in order to study and understand the Vedas clearly without any ambiguity , we need to introspect over the Upanishads and Aarnayaks , because without understanding the significance if these , one cannot infer to the importance of the Vedas completely .
