Maluka orders to speed up the sending of promotion cases
Chandigarh, November 19, 2014: Rural Development & Panchayats Minister, Punjab, Sikander Singh Maluka today took a strong notice of stagnation in the promotion process of staff and delay on the party of administration to hold regular meetings of Departmental Promotion Committees to provide to provide timely promotions to eligible employees.
He has issued directions to Financial Commissioner (Rural Development and Panchayats) to ensure that all cases regarding DPC are timely put up to the competent authority. He has taken strong notice of the matter of the record of regional officers /officials not being put up in time for the promotion purposes. He said that due to this, the affected officers approach the courts which results in unnecessary litigation.
The Minister said that he has issued instructions regarding the compliance of certain points in order to ensure the sending of the record of eligible officers for promotion.
He said that a complete roster register should be prepared about the promotional cases of officers/ officials serving in the department and these registers should be checked by the welfare department after their completion. He also informed that the seniority list of the officers of the department should be prepared without any delay and the record of the officials asked for by the head office should be immediately sent.
The minister said that the attested copy of the appointment letters of those officials should also be sent, whose record has been sent for consideration of promotion and attested copies of the orders of promotion of the employees should also be sent if the employee has been given a promotion earlier.
He also said that these instructions should be strictly complied with.
