Hassle-free arrangements for issuing health certificates for Amarnath Yatra

Chandigarh, March 13, 2014:  Punjab Health & Family Welfare Department has instructed all Civil Surgeons, Medical College Patiala, Faridkot and Amritsar to make proper arrangements for issuing compulsory Health certificates without any cost as per directions of Supreme court. Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the department said that registration for Amarnath Yatra has already started from March 1 this year and these Health Certificates are necessary at the time of registration.
Spokesperson said that for issuing Health certificates department has made special arrangements by designating Medical Specialists at District, Sub Division, Community Health Centre level and at Government Medical Colleges Assistant Professors and above of the Department of Medicine have been nominated to issue these certificates.
Spokesman added that department has taken this initiative so that those who want to go to the Amarnath Yatra could avail health certificates on time and without any hassle and these guidelines shall be applicable in future also. Department has also instructed senior officials that this service should be provided under their direct supervision.
