LUDHIANA POLICE REGISTERS FIR AGAINST EX-SERVICEMAN FOR PROVIDING FAKE ARMY ADMIT CARDS TO CANDIDATES
Ludhiana, March 16, 2019: The Division Number 5 police has registered an FIR under section 420 of IPC against an ex-serviceman for providing fake admit cards to candidates, who have registered themselves for Army recruitment. The FIR has been registered against ex Havildar Gurcharan Singh on the complaint of Col Vishal Dubey, Director Recruiting, Army Recruiting Office, Ludhiana, at Division Number 5 police station Ludhiana. As per information, the Army Recruiting Office (ARO) Ludhiana was receiving complaints for some weeks through various sources regarding touting activity being undertaken by an Ex Serviceman, namely, Ex Havildar Gurcharan Singh. The same was collaborated by some villagers of Vill & PO -Sudhar Tehsil Raikot, District-Ludhiana (Punjab) who approached the ARO Ludhiana office with the similar compliant. A written statement was taken from the complainants stating that one Ex Havildar Gurcharan Singh was providing the candidates fake admit cards and charging Rs 65,000- (approx) per individual. A thorough investigation was carried out by ARO Ludhiana with the assistance of Mr Goldi Virdi, SHO, Police Station Division No 5, Ludhiana and also the documents submitted by villagers were scrutinised. The complaint was found to be genuine. Hence, an FIR is being lodged with the Police Station Division No 5, Ludhiana against a touting activity by Ex Havildar Gurcharan Singh S/O Major Singh, resident of Village & PO- Sudhar, Tehsil - Raikot, District-Ludhiana.
