Ludhiana News/Ensure massive participation in December 12 Parliament March

Ludhiana,  December 9, 2013: Intensive campaign and preparations are in full swing all over the Punjab for making the December 12 Parliament March on the call of all the Central Trade Unions ,an unforgettable event in the Trade Union history of our country.
The rally is being organised in continuation of the united struggle of the working class of India against the neo-liberal policies of the Central Government. BSNL Employees Union, being a class-oriented militant organisation of the Telecom Employees, has always been in the fore-front of all the struggles conducted against the neo-liberal globalisation policies and had participated in all the strike actions including the February 20, 21st 2013, two days strike. A large number of activists of BSNL Employees will participate in march to Parliament, on December 12.
Balbir Singh, Circle Secretary, BSNL Employees Union Punjab and Balwinder Singh, District Secretary Ludhiana BSNLEU told in a joint press statement here today that they are opposing the disinvestment of BSNL since its inception and now their demand of no disinvestment of Public sector has been included in the demand chart of main trade unions of India.
They further said that the sky rocketing prices of essential commodities are affecting the BSNL workers also. So for the demand of minimum wage and social security measures like EPF, ESI are concerned, there are around one lakh contractor workers in BSNL but they are not paid minimum wages. The contractors in BSNL are exploiting these workers and no facility of social security is being extended to them. More   mobilisation at Delhi must have to reflect the spirit and tempo of preparation for a bigger struggle in the days to come.
