Ludhiana News- BJGVJ organises rally to spread awareness about environment

Ludhiana, November 9, 2013: The Bharat Jan Gyan Vigyan Jatha (BJGVJ) District Ludhiana organised a rally and procession to spread awareness about the environment and protection from dengue fever today  at GMT College of Education Ludhiana.

Highlighting the need of protection of environment, president of the Jatha Maj. (Retd.) Sher Singh Aulukh called upon the students and the faculty members to develop habits to save environment and natural resources. The Jatha is spreading awareness in the district for the last more than 20 years. He further said that the Jatha will organize lectures cum demonstrations on this issue in several institutions. Gurcharan Kaur Kochar - Vice President BJGVJ informed the students about all kinds of pollution – its causes and remedies. She lauded the role of students and said that if the youth come forward in this movement of protection of environment then the natural resources can be saved.  She also cautioned the students to keep their surrounding clean and protect themselves from dengue fever.

Gurvant Singh – General Secretary Small Scale Industries and Traders Association and Executive Member BJGVJ held and interactive session with the students about the protection of environment.  Principal of the college Dr. Shikha and Teacher in charge Bhupinder Kaur lauded the role of jatha in promoting healthy environment.

 The students, staff and BJGVJ activists took out a procession for healthy environment from the college campus to Jalandhar Byepass Chowk. Then they held  a rally involving the general public.
