Ludhiana, November 18, 2019: More than 36,85,818 e-cards have been issued to the eligible beneficiaries in 3 months across the Punjab under Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna, in which District Ludhiana has topped in State by generating 3,69,429 E- Cards under.
Disclosing this here today, Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal said that this health insurance scheme was being provided secondary besides tertiary treatment services in the empanelled government and private hospitals adding that he said that as many as 4133 needy patients have been facilitated treatment services till date. He said that benefits of about Rs.2.96 cr. have been provided to the patients till date in the district.
While reviewing the functioning of the health insurance scheme, he said that health department has witnessed the higher number of footfall of patients in the hospitals for getting healthcare services under SSBY. He also said that instructions have been issued Common Service Centres and Hospitals to expedite the process of generating e-cards.
He added said that a beneficiary would only be considered eligible after being issued the e-card number and awareness camps are also being organised by the Health Department to motivate the people to get their e-cards made from the common service centres and hospitals. He said that instructions have been issued to the officers in this regard so that maximum numbers of patients would get the benefits of Health Insurance Scheme.
Mr Agrawal said that to ensure the secondary and tertiary healthcare services at door step of people, besides 203 Government Hospitals, 432 private hospitals are empanelled under this scheme. He said that beneficiary is freely to get the health services across the State.
