Jalandhar, February 22, 2015: Already winner of Runners up Trophy at North Zone Youth Festival, talented students of Lovely Professional University have once again brought laurels to the university by winning seven medals at 30th All India Inter University National Youth Festival. Students won three Gold Medals in music and theatre categories for Folk Orchestra, Mimicry & Light Vocal solo; one silver medal for Classical Vocal Solo; and, three bronze for Classical Percussion, Classical Non-Percussion & Western Group Song.  Festival was organised under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. This year the fest was held as ‘Prvaah-2015’ at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (Madhya Pradesh). Celebrated to mark and commemorate the birth anniversary of youth icon Swami Vivekananda, the Fest is held every year in a different state of India.
Congratulating the participating student contingents, LPU Pro Chancellor Rashmi Mittal said: “We are glad to note that after showing their excellence at Zonal level, LPU students have clinched many medals at National level also. In fact, present time wants students to be of multifarious help for the sake of society. We too want and mentor LPU students to excel in each and every field in addition to their academics. AIU’s such a fest focuses on various important aspects which not only reflect the spirit of friendship but also peace and development.”
LPU winner students shared: “We are very happy that fest participation has provided us a nation-wide exposure for expression and fulfillment of our talents and aspirations. We are indebted to our alma mater which keeps on providing us great platforms like AIU’s national youth fest and other competitions.”
